Answer the Craving

So I was taking a nice relaxing bath after Evan and I played in the rain and he was napping, I was reading a book and wham...they mention spice cake with chocolate mocha icing so what do I now have to do?  Get out of the bath and make my own.  :)  The joys of pregnancy!  Then when I was getting out all the ingredients, I thought I would go Pioneer Woman and photograph my cooking adventure!  So here is my spin on spice cake with chocolate mocha icing, homemade chocolate cake with homemade chocolate/coffee icing.

Get out all your ingredients for the cake.

Sift together your flour, cocoa, sugar, salt and baking soda.

Sifted ingredients ready for the rest of the ingredients.

All the ingredients added together...yummy goodness in the making!

Whisk together until mixed well.

Ready for baking.

In the oven at 350 degrees.

Set a timer for 45 minutes.  Go on set the timer, don't take a chance on burning this baby.

The cake is ready!!!

Ingredients for the icing.

Melt the butter on medium heat.

Add your milk and bring to a boil.
(I forgot the picture but once it starts boiling, take off the heat and add your cocoa.  Mix well and put back on medium heat for a couple minutes.)

Add powdered sugar a little at a time until it's at your desired consistency.

My icing after only 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar.

Ready to ice!

Cake is iced and ready to go.

Enjoy with a large glass of milk!

Customized Rubber Stamps

I don't know how I seemed to have come upon this site, but I am so glad that I did.  They have some amazing deals and products for cheap.  You have to be quick because they have a new product everyday with a limited supply.  I am sharing todays because it would make a great gift for a teacher, a little one with a different name spelling, a last name to stamp envelopes, great stocking stuffers, etc.  The uses are endless.  go on over to Pick Your Plum and check it out!  Here is a picture of todays awesome stamp!

Binkie Holder

I was at Hobby Lobby today buying more stuff for Evan's birthday party and he was wearing a binkie holder so he wouldn't drop his binkie, and I thought "I could make that."  So I did. :)  I bought all the supplies to create a binkie holder, plus some incase someone else saw it and decided they needed one too, and I made him a binkie holder to match his party.  The only problem is, out of the 300 letters in the package they didn't have a "v" so I had to make shift one, along with the "i" I turned into a one.  Oh, well I think it's cute anyways.  First craft posted!

First Post

This is my first post!  Whoo hoo!  Not too sure what to write about at the moment, but there are so many exciting things coming up in the near future and I wanted to have a place to share them.  Evan's first birthday is coming up August 15th and we are having his birthday party the 20th back home in Cleburne.  The theme is Dr. Seuss and I have some pretty awesome decorations and ideas that I am making all myself.  Love getting to be creative!  We are also sharing some big news that day...we are going to announce the gender of our new baby, so check back if you want to find out.
